A fool in love

The fool believes he’s lying

When he whispers, “I love you.”

Fools shouldn’t think—

They should act, like instinctual beasts.

Too late, I learned—

My heart's bold declaration was true.

I let you slip away,

Could have claimed you as mine,

But I set you free,

Thinking I didn’t love you.
